Disciple Designs originally started as a fundraiser for supplies for my classroom in June of 2017. At that time, it was called Tees2Teach. After raising the money I needed for my classroom, I intended to stop designing and selling shirts. However, my husband recognized a spark in my eye, and a passion in my heart. He could tell I was enjoying making t-shirts and encouraged me to open an online t-shirt shop. I was hesitant initially, but after encouragement from my husband, I decided to go for it.
I knew from the beginning that I didn’t want to just sell shirts without a purpose. If I was going to start a business, I wanted it to somehow help people. My faith has always been a large part of who I am. I believe it is important to share my faith with others but struggle with sharing since I am naturally an introvert. Going out of my way to talk to strangers is uncomfortable. Even more uncomfortable is the thought of talking to strangers about my faith. One day, it just clicked. I could use my t-shirt business as a way to share my faith and teach others about Christ! Furthermore, I could use it as a way to empower other women to share their faith. From these thoughts, Disciple Designs was born.
I am now designing and making t-shirts full time! I love it, and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else!
